Στα 19 της αρχίζει να γράφει ολοκληρωμένα τραγούδια, στα 22 γίνεται talk of the town και στα 23 κυκλοφορεί τον πρώτο της προσωπικό δίσκο. Όλοι μιλούν για το κορίτσι-φαινόμενο που η φήμη του δεν αποκλείεται να εξαπλωθεί και εκτός ελληνικών συνόρων. Και ο λόγος στη Monika… χωρίς καμία δισκογραφική δουλειά στο ενεργητικό της, η δημοτικότητά της είχε αρχίσει να παίρνει… ανησυχητικές διαστάσεις και οι προτάσεις για συναυλίες έπεφταν βροχή. Μετά από ένα χρόνο, η Monika κυκλοφορεί το ντεμπούτο άλμπουμ της, με τίτλο Avatar, συμμετέχει σε συναυλία του MTV Greece, ενώ φήμες θέλουν μεγάλη κυρία του έντεχνου ρεπερτορίου να σκέφτεται συνεργασία μαζί της. Στο Avatar συνεργάστηκε με μεγάλα ονόματα της διεθνούς μουσικής σκηνής, όπως είναι ο Martin Wenk των Calexico στα πνευστά και ο Ian Caple (παραγωγός των Tindersticks) στην παραγωγή, ενώ η μείξη του ήχου έγινε στη Νέα Υόρκη.
Δεν είναι και λίγο για την 23χρονη μουσικό, τραγουδοποιό και στιχουργό, η οποία δημιούργησε ένα hype γύρω από το όνομά της, βγάζοντας τα πρώτα τραγούδια της στο MySpace! Η ιδιαίτερη φωνή της, η απροσδόκητα ώριμη, για την ηλικία της, ερμηνεία και οι άρτιες ορχηστρικές συνθέσεις έκαναν (κάθε είδους) κοινό και μουσικοκριτικούς να παραληρούν, μιλώντας για ένα μεγάλο ταλέντο, που είχε πολλά χρόνια να κάνει την εμφάνισή του στην Ελλάδα. Η μουσική της είναι ένα κράμα folk, pop και κλασικής μουσικής με ξένο στίχο, γεγονός ασυνήθιστο για την ελληνική (λαϊκο-pop) πραγματικότητα. Παρά το γεγονός ότι η ιστορία της φαίνεται να εξελίσσεται με απίστευτα γοργούς ρυθμούς, οι κινήσεις της αποπνέουν σιγουριά και αποφασιστικότητα.
